The Power Station BBS/Acenet Information Page

The Power Station BBS is a free on-line service dedicated to the intellectual discussion
and debate of issues. Topics include abortion, gun control, politics and various media-related
subjects. The Power Station also serves as a resource for radio personalities and performing
artists by giving them a forum in which to discuss their craft. SYSOP
Ace Armstrong brought the BBS on-line in Flint,
Michigan in 1994, and later moved it to Kalamazoo, Michigan where it now resides.
The Power Station is the home of Acenet, and can be reached directly at 616-329-4316 via
modem. RIP, ANSI and VT100 modes are all supported; RIP is recommended. The Power Station
is a Searchlight BBS.

Acenet is a computer network
dedicated to the discussion of issues on an intellectual level. Conspiracy theories,
wild accusations and rumour are not allowed; only information which can be looked up
and verified is considered acceptable. Acenet grew out of the Power Station BBS, and
now includes nodes in seven states. An
information packet is available for
those who are interested in joining. Acenet operates as a QWKnet, and does not currently
support Fido-style networking, although it is possible to make it work with such a network.
